How do TV networks know the amount of the audience watching a particular show?
I was just watching Miss Universe on NBC and they said that the show is being watched by about a 1 billion people globally (including foreign TV channels’ audiences). How do they know? I think this is just pure manipulation. How are they coming up with these kind of numbers? As for me, it is impossible to track what a particular individual is watching at the time(it’s not like internet where IP addresses and things like that can reveal your identity). I’ve been hearing the similar(numerical) statistics for a lot of different tv shows/sport events, so I’m dying to find out.
Thank you.

Since Nobama got into the oval office, network television and radio programs are searching (without much success) to find reputable black people to speak about current events. Is it true that every major TV station in the country is looking for smart, articulate black professionals, but have been unsuccessful at doing so? I’ve been told that there just aren’t “that many” intelligent black people available.

How do I contact national TV news channels when I have really important news?
A while back I came across what I considered extremely important news and wanted to let national TV news channels know, most specifically thinking of CNN or even MSNBC, but could not find anywhere I could “click” for lets say “news tips”, “contact us”, “urgent news”, or similar. It may sound silly but there are some things sometimes people feel better telling it to news mediums than police or other authorities.
Why? Well because news people are always willing to hear and listen to what you can explain to them in an intelligent way. Most of the time authorities tend to make their own judgement without you finishing your story. Or worse yet cut you off telling you “let proper authorities handle it”.
I have no idea how any news channel would have reacted to what I thought was something odd and a bit complicated, thus making it important in the world situation we now have. But just in case I come across something like that I want to tell someone immediatedly, in strict confidence.
