How to get tv sound to come through a mini home theatre dvd system?

Hi,
Can anyone help me? i have just bought a philips micro dvd system.I want to hear the sound from the sky televison channels through the speakers instead of the basic tv speakers.
I have no idea of what wires i would need to connect this,or how.
The tv is an LG flatscreen if this helps.Sky runs through AV1 on tv.

Connect the AUX out on the TV to the AUX in on the micro system.
Usually its Red and a White Phono (RCA) sockets on each, so use two phono to phono leads,
The manual for the micro system and TV will show you where the AUX out and AUX in are on each.
If you can’t get AUX out from the TV, second choice is to use AUX out on the SKY box.
You will probably need to mute the TV too. [who]
